Alun Cummins

Alun Cummins is a visual effects producer at Industrial Light & Magic. He began his career working on-set as a production assistant for commercials in Vancouver before transitioning into visual effects. Holding a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Leeds Beckett University, he embarked on a path that would lead him to become a respected figure in TV visual effects production. He then spent about four years at Double Negative, working in both London and Vancouver. During his time there, he served in roles such as VFX line producer and VFX production coordinator on various television projects, including Electric Dreams (2017–2018), The Young Pope (2016), Outcast (2017), and Fungus the Bogeyman (2015). In 2019, Cummins began working at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). His first assignment was The Underground Railroad as a Visual Effects Producer (2021). Over the following years at ILM, he produced visual effects for several prominent projects, including Lost Ollie (2022), The Witcher Season 1 (2021), Ultraman: Rising (2024), and Sinners (2025). Earlier in his career, Cummins received industry recognition for his work on the Hulu miniseries Catch-22 (2019), where he served as Visual Effects Producer (for DNEG TV). He and his team—including Matt Kasmir, Brian Connor, Dan Charbit, Matthew Wheelon Hunt, Gavin Harrison, Giovanni Casadei, Remi Martin, and Peter Farkas—were nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2019 for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for their work on season 1 episode 4.
