Nine Days in Wahat al-Salam 2010 Directed by Ahlam Shibli تسعة أيام في واحة السلام

This film documents nine days of meetings between eight Palestinians and eight Israelis in 2003 in the Israeli-Palestinian village of Wahat al-Salam/Neve Shalom, recording the participants’ discussions and the development of their awareness of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict as well as their roles in it. The participants, all in their 20s and 30s, begin to analyse their own identities through their interactions with each other. It explores majority-minority relations and asymmetrical structures. The film highlights the network of conditions that underlie such discussions of power through its use of linear chronology, permanent observers, and contained space.
