Inhabited Solitude 1976 Directed by Óscar Alves Solidão Povoada

Óscar Alves' first feature film and the only film in his short career as a director that explores the melodrama genre, it would not be bold to say that "Solidão Povoada" is heir to the visual aesthetic of Cinema Novo, whose greatest reference is Paulo Rocha's "Verdes Anos" (1963). Set in a post-25 April Lisbon that wants to be cosmopolitan, the film portrays two middle-class couples.
