Ben Watne loses her wife, Ramona, very young. We fast forward to the present, and Ben is an astronaut now, studying an anomalous singularity in deep space. The singularity takes on the shape of a giant woman and devours her, taking her to the underworld; there, she meets her wife again. She and Ramona, reunited, dance together in a poppy field. When it comes time for Ben to decide whether to stay in the afterlife or keep living, she decides to keep living.
