Sitting on the edge of the bed, in the semi-darkness, one hand on the walker, the other on the remote control: information about Turkish soccer on teletext, where numbers combine to create an agile world, while his own socks in sandals slowly lift off the floor. The room is empty, as is the common room, but there's a bit of activity in the sports betting office. Only when a visitor arrives does the steady ticking of the clock become less noticeable.
